Another beauty from one of our favorite wineries – Michael David does it again with this Cabernet Franc, Inkblot.
Visual: This beautiful wine pours into a lovely blend of deep purple and ruby red. Its eye-catching hue is deep and clear. Noticeably, it is not ‘inky’ in any way as purple wines can tend to be. It’s quite leggy as it coats the glass.
Nose: This youthful wine definitely packed an aromatic punch. Blackberries and chocolate were some of the first aromas we noticed. Vanilla and cherries added to the party and a hint of minerality was also noticed.
Taste: We determined this medium-full bodied wine to be dry/off-dry and featuring medium round tannins with good balance. It is bold and flavorful with many different flavors noted on the palate. Smoky, black pepper and spice was prominently noticed as well as rich toasty blackberries and a hint of bell pepper to round out the tasting notes.
